Parent-Child Program

Led by an experienced teacher, Windsong’s Parent-Child program is for families with young children who are looking for community and connection in their parenting journey. Meeting one morning each week, children and their caregivers come together to experience the magic and wonder of early childhood. The teacher leads the class through a comforting daily rhythm of explorative play and creative work. Songs, fingerplays, movement games, and puppet stories support language and motor development. Natural playthings nourish the child’s senses and budding imagination. Freeplay, both indoors and outdoors, support children’s physical and social development. Caregivers are offered opportunities to cultivate their own creativity through handwork, to meaningfully observe their children at play, to read and journal, and to enjoy one another’s company.

Our parent-child classes are designed to support the parent and child from birth through entry into our Mixed-Age Kindergarten program.  Classes meet weekly and enrollment is for the school year.

(For caregivers and young children age birth to 3. Children who have turned 3 prior to the first day of class are served by our Mixed-Age Kindergarten program. All children in the immediate family under the age of 3 are welcome in the same class at no additional charge.)
