Kindergarten Afternoon Teacher

Windsong School is seeking an afternoon teacher for our Star Kindergarten classroom.

The Star Kindergarten afternoon teacher will work independently but collaboratively with the Star Kindergarten lead teacher and other members of the early childhood faculty/staff to help maintain the integrity and quality of Windsong early childhood programs. Ideally, this teacher would have training and/or experience in Waldorf education, as well as experience and/or training in working with young children. Musical and artistic abilities, kindness, warmth, patience, energy, and a genuine dedication to Waldorf education are assets for this position. Opportunities are available for a qualified candidate to grow within the position.

Portable background check, MERIT registration, current CPR/First Aid certification, food handler’s permit, bloodborne pathogens training, and negative TB test results are required for this position.

Position hours are from 1:30 pm-5:30 pm. Pay is hourly, $13.50 per hour. PTO is provided. 50% tuition remission is offered as a benefit.

Early Childhood Assistants

Windsong School is seeking to fill several class assistant positions in our Early Childhood programs.

The people in these positions will assist the children as needed with various tasks such as setting the table and cleaning up after snacks, in the bathroom, dressing/undressing for the outdoors, story time, and nap time. Duties will also include organizing the classroom daily, ironing classroom silks, napkins, and placemats as needed, and materials prep.

Candidates must be warm, patient, and have experience working in an early childhood setting. Knowledge of Waldorf educational principles, techniques and methods, and singing skill is preferred. A willingness to learn about and practice Waldorf principles in the classroom and follow the classroom teacher’s direction is required. Opportunities are available for qualified candidates to grow within the positions. Portable background check, MERIT registration, current CPR/First Aid certification, food handler’s permit, bloodborne pathogens training, and negative TB test results are required for FTK assistants and teachers.

Open positions are as follows. Available hours are subject to change with class or programming requirements.

Nursery Assistant:   Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Nursery Assistant:   Thursday and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Full-time Kindergarten Morning Assistant:   Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Pay is $11.50 per hour. PTO is provided.  50% tuition remission is offered as a benefit.

Maintenance & Custodial Staff

Windsong School is seeking a skilled Maintenance & Custodial staff member for the 2017-2018 school year. The person in this position will work closely with school administration and faculty and may be in occasional communication with our property owner.

This position will begin July 1, 2017. The Maintenance & Custodial staff will be on campus Monday through Friday, ideally 7:30-9:30 a.m. School year hours may be flexible if necessary but will require grounds care before morning drop off after episodes of snow or other inclement weather. Summer schedule may vary. Must be available in case of facilities emergency. Duties will include ensuring completion of all needed maintenance, repairs, and grounds maintenance, as well as regular janitorial upkeep.

Requirements:

Considerable experience, skill, and understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) and interior and exterior building construction, repair, and maintenance is required. Experience in grounds maintenance and providing janitorial or custodial services is preferred. Diligent reliability and the capacity to initiate and complete tasks in a timely manner is absolutely necessary. It is essential that applicants possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits:

Position currently offers 10 hours per week (subject to increase)
$11.50 per hour
One week (10 hours) of Paid Time Off per year (subject to increase proportionately with hours per week)
Tuition remission offered at 50%
